Neurology & Psychiatry Onboarding

Resources to support your practice as you incorporate Tempus PGx testing into your clinical workflow.

The patient experience

Sample collection and submission

Our PGx sample collection kits may be completed in-office or mailed to your patient’s home. Top tips to provide a successful sample:

Patients should avoid eating, drinking, and nicotine 30 minutes prior to collection.

  • The sample collection process takes just over 10 minutes.
  • Patients should review and complete the patient consent form either in the kit or the online portal.
  • Both swabs provided in the kit will be used to collect samples from both cheeks in your mouth to send to Tempus in the DNA Sample Collection Envelope.

Financial assistance and billing

Our commitment to patient care includes:

  • Transparent billing and assistance with insurance claims.
  • A benefits check on the coverage details of a patient’s provided insurance policy, and outreach to your patient if we expect your patient’s cost to be more than $295 out-of-pocket.
  • A financial assistance program for eligible patients. A simplified application is a part of every patient consent form.

Supporting your patients with billing and financial assistance

After you place a test order, direct patients to the appropriate links below to complete their consent and billing information. Both workflows guide patients through billing preferences, flexible payment options, and financial assistance.

For minors and their legal guardians, elderly patients and their caregivers, or anyone who may have difficulty creating a patient portal account:
Inform patients to access the Online billing and consent form complete required to complete required consent and billing information. The patient portal is not available for patients under 18. They should use the dedicated online form instead.

For all other patients
Inform patients to access the Tempus patient portal to complete required consent and billing information. Patients should also look for an email/text from Tempus with instructions when accessing the portal for the first time.

Patient communications

Tempus uses the patient contact information provided at the time of order to communicate with your patient throughout the order journey. Communications may be sent as a combination of emails, texts and phone calls.

The care team experience

Onboarding with Tempus follows three simple steps:

  1. Access Tempus Hub
Hub is an online portal for ordering Tempus PGx tests, viewing results, and accessing tools such as Real World Data. For quick access in the future, bookmark hub.securetempus.com.

  2. Place a PGx test order

Log into Hub and click the “Order Test” button in the top-right corner of the screen. Then complete all required fields in the form. As you fill it out, use the Order Progress bar on the left side of the window to track your progress. Completed sections will display a green check mark, while sections with missing information will appear as gray circles. If any information is entered incorrectly, a red exclamation point will appear along with details next to the affected field. Read step-by-step instructions here →

  3. Track the order and view results

View real-time updates on your order status, including the estimated report delivery date. You will also receive email notifications for any delays, missing items, and when your report is ready. Once available, your patient’s PGx report can be accessed directly within Tempus Hub. Watch this tutorial to learn more about Tempus nP reports ↗︎

Schedule a meeting

A Tempus Medical Science Liaison can review your Tempus nP PGx report and/or discuss relevant clinical findings.
