All Tempus tests must be ordered by a healthcare provider. Collection kits to obtain a saliva sample can be sent to your clinic or can be shipped directly to patients. Our kits include easy-to-follow instructions and packaging for convenient and fast shipping to our lab.
Seeing patients remotely? Saliva collection kits can be sent directly to patients. And, the Tempus PRO™ app is a great option to collect information from patients remotely.Learn more about the test and ordering process
If you are a new Tempus customer, complete a requisition form online at order.securetempus.com. On the requisition form, indicate if you will be collecting a sample with the patient at the clinic or would like for a kit to be shipped to the patient.
Patient completes the saliva collection and sends it back to Tempus via the included FedEx shipping label.

Sequencing results are typically returned to the provider in Tempus Hub within 10 days of Tempus’ receipt of the patient’s saliva sample. Providers will also be notified via email when results are available.
Patients* are automatically invited to download the Tempus PRO™ mobile application and can begin completing assessments indicated on the requisition form or assigned by the provider in Tempus Hub. Once the patient begins completing assessments, the results will be visible to the provider in Tempus Hub.
Tempus accepts all insurance plans. We will work with insurance to submit for reimbursement. If coverage is denied, Tempus will file an appeal(s) on the patient’s behalf. Most patients pay $295 (our self-pay price) or less for testing. We feel it’s important to provide cost transparency so that your patient is not surprised by a bill from Tempus. As a result, Tempus will call or email any patient expected to owe more than $295 before proceeding with the test to discuss their payment options.
Tempus also has a financial assistance program to help provide access to our tests for patients in financial need.
