Going beyond pharmacogenomics

Tempus uses a custom whole-exome sequencing panel to derive PGx results. Data on approximately 20,000 genes is generated and these molecular files may be made available to the ordering provider by request. This data may be used to fuel diagnostic-, prognostic-, and treatment-related research in the future. As new findings emerge in the field, Tempus aims to share relevant insights with providers so that their patients may benefit.

GETTING STARTED

How to order a Tempus test and enroll your patient in TempusPRO

All Tempus tests must be ordered by a healthcare provider. Collection kits to obtain a saliva sample can be sent to your clinic or can be shipped directly to patients. Our kits include easy-to-follow instructions and packaging for convenient and fast shipping to our lab.

  1. Complete a requisition form online at tempuspro.securetempus.com. On the requisition form, indicate if you will be collecting a sample with the patient at the clinic or would like for a kit to be shipped to the patient.
  2. Patient completes the saliva collection and sends it back to Tempus via the included FedEx shipping label.
  3. Patient also completes the consent form included in the collection kit or online at consent.securetempus.com.
  4. Sequencing results are typically returned to the provider in the Tempus Portal within 10 days of Tempus’ receipt of the patient’s saliva sample. Providers will also be notified via email when results are available.
  5. Patients* are automatically invited to download the TempusPRO mobile application and can begin completing assessments indicated on the requisition form or assigned by the provider in the Tempus Portal. Once the patient begins completing assessments, the results will be visible to the provider in the Tempus Portal.
*The TempusPRO mobile application is currently only available to patients 18 years of age or older. 

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

At Tempus, we believe that cost should not be a barrier to accessing the highest quality of care we can provide.

Our financial assistance program is designed to help patients in financial need afford the cost of testing. Most patients who qualify for financial assistance pay between $0 – $100. For uninsured patients or those who prefer to pay outside of insurance, our self-pay cost is $295 USD. Frequently asked questions

Who can order the Tempus test?

Clinicians treating patients who suffer from depression, anxiety, or other psychiatric conditions can order a Tempus test.

How long will it take to get the results?

We aim to provide results before the patient’s next appointment. Results will be delivered to the ordering physician approximately 10 days from the time Tempus receives the sample and order requisition form.

Which patients are eligible for the Tempus|nP test?

Patients diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), General Anxiety Disorder (GAD), or related psychiatric conditions may benefit from the Tempus|nP test. For more information please email help@tempus.com.

Are the results of the Tempus|nP report confidential?

Tempus is a HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) covered entity. Results that contain protected health information will only be shared with the ordering physician and as otherwise permitted by law.

Is this test covered by insurance?

We guarantee that a patient will not receive a bill from Tempus if our test is not covered by insurance. If the test is covered by insurance, all U.S.-based patients are eligible for our financial assistance program which can reduce out-of-pocket costs to $0-$100.
