Erik Phelps Joins Tempus as Executive Vice President and General Counsel

Tempus, a technology company that enables physicians to deliver personalized cancer care, has hired Erik Phelps to serve as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Phelps will be responsible for a broad range of legal areas for the company, including general corporate matters and strategy. Prior to joining Tempus, Phelps served as General Counsel at Epic, a software company that provides electronic health records for medical groups, hospitals and healthcare organizations. Before that, he served as a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP in Madison, WI where he focused on software licensing and technology related work, including with early-stage companies. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Beloit College and his J.D. from George Washington University Law School.
