You are not alone.
The Tempus Genetic Test makes it easy to understand how your genes impact the way specific medications may work for you and could help get you on the right medication.
Everyone's depression is different. Everyone's bipolar is different. So you really have to tailor treatment to the patient sitting in front of you… I use Tempus in my practice for people who have failed one, two, or possibly three different drugs. I saw this as a way to try to figure that out.

While this approach works for many, for some people it can take many weeks or months of trying new medications without feeling any better to find a combination that works.
Pharmacogenomic testing, or PGx testing, looks at how your unique DNA impacts the way your body processes certain medications, or side effects you may experience from medications. DNA differences might explain why a medication may work for others but may not work for you. In fact, just one gene family is responsible for 70-80% of drug metabolism in your body, and variations in this gene can impact whether your doctor should start you on a higher or lower dose of medication2. Knowing this information can help your doctor prescribe medications that can help you feel better, sooner.
The Tempus Genetic Test is a medically actionable PGx test. This test includes reference information, such as links to FDA PGx guidelines3, Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC) and PharmGKB. Your doctor can use results from the Tempus Genetic Test to decide which medication to use and at what dose this medication should be prescribed to personalize your treatment plan.
FIND OUT IF YOU’RE A FITBeing able to work with my physician to be able to find the right medication for me, using the test results, was really incredible. Through the Tempus test, we were able to narrow [the medications] down.
Tempus really helped the doctor prescribe the right amount of medication at the right time. And so my side effects were minimized.
It was interesting to see that according to the test, I'm a fast metabolizer of that particular pain medication. It gave me a bigger picture of how my genes work.
